A closer look at 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' director Bill Condon

Now that we know, officially, that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be directed by Bill Condon, it's a perfect time to take a look at some of Condon's previous work to see what we might be able to expect from his style and method.
Condon has been directing films since 1987 when he began his directorial career with Sister, Sister (starring Eric Stoltz and Jennifer Jason Leigh), and he has since directed roughly nine films. He has also worked on quite a number of films (including Chicago - which earned him an Oscar nomination - and Shortcut To Happiness).
Three of his films, particularly, have garnered quite a bit of acclaim and attention, and he served as both director and writer for those projects. They are 1998's Gods And Monsters (for which he won the "Best Writing" Oscar, with Brendan Fraser, Ian McKellan, and Lynn Redgrave), Kinsey (starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney), and Dreamgirls (with Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, and Eddie Murphy).
Here are the theatrical trailers for these films, in sequential order:

As you can see, this is quite the eclectic mixture of work.
Early on, when Bill Condon's name was circulating the rumor mill for acquisition, MTV did a great piece on some of the pros and cons of his selection.
One of the things they pointed out about Condon was that he had experience in the "dark and twisty genre" (as evinced by his work on ChicagoGods And Monsters, and Candyman: Farewell To The Flesh), but they also noted that he hasn't worked in the "teen" film category just yet.
Still, a perusal of his film repertoire certainly suggests that he's a man with expanded capacity.
Hope this helps to introduce you all to the newest Twilight Saga director!
